McPherson State Fishing Lake lies on the refuge's west border. Fish for bass, catfish and panfish. Enjoy basic camping and day-use facilities including a nature trail, picnic tables, fire pits and piers. Reservations not required. No camping fees. State requirements for fishing license enforced.  Electrical hookups or potable water  not available. Public restrooms available on site.


Wildflowers are abundant spring through fall

on the east side of the lake and along the refuge entry road.


RV CAMPING AVAILABLE:

Battlehill RV Park located west of our Fishing lake 2443 Pueblo Road, privately owned and operated fully equipped with water, electrical and sewer. Rent spots daily, weekly or monthly
