Board a modern day "covered wagon" (tram) for a 45 minute tour out on our Kansas prairie located in the heart of the Smoky Hills where you will experience an up close and personal visit within our Bison herd. Enjoy the native wildflowers and grasses along the way and catch glimpses of white tail deer and other wildlife. The plains Elk are out for viewing November through March. Tour guides are on board providing information about Maxwell and the Kansas Prairie's natural, cultural and historic resources. Reservations required with 3 day notice suggested to allow for scheduling staff. Our visitor center/museum open during tours and events only.
